AlekWB joining from TX & it's about time.

Hi. I've come to these forums multiple times for information and I figured it was about time I joined. It also seems as though Texas is pretty scarcely represented, especially in e-waste, so I thought joining might make it easier to connect locally.

I started scrapping about 3-4 months ago when my son and I went looking for cans so that I could show him that people really would pay him for trash. We happened upon a dumpster with about a half a dozen old pc's, including monitors, and I was off to the races. I only do it part time and I really enjoy the electronic scrap side of it. Been selling on ebay but I have enough volume now that I think going direct to a buyer may make more sense for me.

Thank you SMF and members for the wonderful resource and past help. I hope to add to instead of only taking from at some point in the future.

    See you in the threads.

Well gosh, I feel like family already. I'm from Spring, a suburb north of Houston.

Sirscrapalot - got any old school Dr. Pepper in that cooler of your's?

Now that Dr. Pepper got my attention, welcome from Alabama. Glass bottles preferred please. I know that we can recycle the AL cans, but the taste is sooo much better in glass.

I'm not usually part of the spelling police, but growing up in Texas, there is one thing we learned - there is no period in Dr Pepper. They took it out in about 1950.

I'm just sad that Dublin no longer bottles the pure cane sugar version of Dr Pepper.

Shoot, corrected, and I KNEW that. It's just that when I type Dr or Mr, my fingers just go on autopilot and hit that period.

Used to buy cases of Dublin Dr Pepper...Yeah there is not really an ewaste market in Houston aside from your local businesses accepting them in store, or if you have 15-20 tons of it per load. Welcome from SW Houston near Wharton.
