    New to the game

Hey everyone. I'm new to the whole scrapping scene, only been doing it part time for about 2 months in northern illinois. The wife lost her job and we needed extra cash so I figured "there's gotta be something to these guys with the junk trucks". After a week or two of aimlessly curb surfing I picked up good spots and a lot of good info from here. I've got access to a lot of computers and e-waste in this area, but I'm not sure how to categorize boards/ram/chips to sell them in the most profitable way. I look forward to growing in this business and the community!

Thank you ironhunter, and you couldn't have been more helpful mechanic, Thank you for those links my first two weeks i got 12 desktop towers and turned em into the yard for 0.15/lb... After looking on here and seeing prices people are buying ram/chips/boards for I feel like I shot myself in the foot

Jay, break them all the way down and save the parts till you get a decent sized load, then you can start comparing buyers. What all you pick up and break down is up to you but we recommend you try one of each. You'll find tips in the Breakdown Section.
