    Nebraska Farmer

Hi there. I'm a semi-retired farmer from Nebraska and got interested in scrapping when I began hauling off my own unused machinery three years ago. I carry my own Gehl skidsteer (60hp) to job sites and haul presently with a 16 ft beefed up car trailer. Had to build my own fenders so I could just roll heavy loads over the side. I take anything from "cake pans to combines" and take the bad with the good. I hate to see the waste....a shame what gets thrown away sometimes. Also retrieve some of the items for my own projects. Best advice I know is to be upfront with your customers, keep it strictly honest and pay you go. (I haul multiple loads from each site.) There are enough iron haulers/buyers with bad reputations out there. Stay reputable and you'll sleep better at night with a pocket full of change.
I'm going to enjoy this site. Thanks

I have always been amazed at the things people throw away even when i
I was very young. I guess that's where I got the scrap bug. I remember my mother throwing a 10 lb sterling set away because she was tired of polishing it all the time. My wife likes to shop at the mall, I would rather shop at the yard.

Sorry Jmerritt, I didn't see your post earlier. I'm near Lynch. Is Stormin Norman's still open for dances?
