I am just a part time scrapper. I do it just to have some extra money for fun stuff the wife doesn't care to keep up with. Mostly just electronic stuff I see on the side of the road on the way to work or somewhere.

Welcome from the Dakota's. You better be careful, your extra income could produce a cruise in the future. Do you think she will want to join you? If not, several members of the forum might. Money to made if you do the research.
Welcome neighbor from Alabama
That wall of buckets may soon threaten to take over your entire garage....from experience.
Patriot....That cruise idea can surely happen, or new living room furniture.....also from experience.
I hope it won't take over. Just one bucket for each metal type and I think I'm covered.
If I ever get more serious I'll go to some bins outside.
Welcome to the forum.
Oh it will change. Start telling friends, neighbors and associates about what you do and those 5 gallon pails get small real quick. Still use some pails but now its 20 & 55 gallon drums and added a dishwasher liner for #2 wire. My bride is not fond of the scrapping sometimes but she sure is happy with the 20's, 50's and 100's after I cash checks from the yard.
Anyways welcome to the forum from the balmy part of Minnesota
As a driver I'm always sober, but my truck is always ready to get loaded
Yea..we all started with the idea of.."Oh just a bucket or two.." lol. Lest I did, an now it's a full time gig. While I don't do cruises, it sure does pay for the trips to visit the Mouse or elsewhere. An will actually pay for a cruise this year if all goes well. Simple Man cruise here I come!
edit : Didn['t mean I never go on a cruise, just not used the profit for one yet. lol.

Welcome from south of Chicago. I started small by doing just cans. Then started a bucket of small iron peices. Now im out of control.
Welcome aboard, my wife let's me use the front porch (enclosed). As long as there is a pathway she doesn't say much.
Welcome from ky. And everyone is right about the buckets. I used to have a bucket for this and one for that. Now I use bins, buckets, bags, what ever else I can find. Sometimes I get to going so much that I forget that I have limited room in my truck, then I have to make 2 trips to yard.
Oh and my wife let's me use the front porch. In the winter I bring some escrap inside. She don't care too much as long as I clean up, and when she gets part of the money. She grew up in maine as a scrapper's daughter
Welcome from Ontario Canada!
I also use whatever I can get my hands on.
Im currently using the alum pan thing from inside a crock pot to hold my CPUs and a dresser to store my mobos. LOL dressers are actually awesome. I have 2 in my garage. Doubles as a work bench if needed.

If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Something else that works well as a work bench is a console TV, after you break thru the top then you can recycle the insides and knock the cabinet apart and throw it on the burn pile.LOL dressers are actually awesome. I have 2 in my garage. Doubles as a work bench if needed.
I have one of those! Console's that is. It's my outside work table. Dropped the tube a the recycle center, an kept the wood console. Big sucker, an works just fine for breaking things down outside. An the big empty space underneath is a good spot for a tote, shelf, etc.

Welcome to the most valuable forum ever! My better half made me recycle my beer cans, and now I pick up dryers, axles, grills, lawnmowers, just started with electronics... The list goes on.
