    Hello fellow scrappers!

My name is Vince. I have scrapping in my blood. My father started and ran a junk car scrapping business in the 80’s I would go with him on pick ups and help prep the car for transport to Miller Compressing in Milwaukee. Between my brother and I we have pulled hundreds of wire looms and transmissions from scrap cars and trucks. I began recycling computers in 2008 as a hobby of sorts and in 2010 my wife and I began to seriously look at the opportunity as a business. In Dec 2013 I lost my job of 17 years. And now I find myself scrapping computers and e-waste full time.

My hope is to share some of my knowledge and experience with the forum members as well as gain some friends and business relationships along the way.

So right now I’m looking for outlets in the Milwaukee area. Where do you folks take your scrap? I was taking the majority of mine to IRT in Racine. But I went there last week only to find the lot full of snow and the doors locked. IRT based in MN and they do not have a site in WI anymore.
    Be well,
    VSL

Welcome vsl, I'm from ky. U need to check out the buyers section on this forum. Many buyers that u can ship ur escrap to, and a couple even prepay shipping and then take the cost out of ur total. That helps so u don't have to come up with money to ship, plus they get discounts on shipping so it is actually cheaper. Nice to see u here. Hope u enjoy ur self

Welcome from the Dakota's. If we were talking about scrapping vehicles, I might be able to help. I leave the e-scrap to the smarter individuals on the forum.
