I guess ill tell you I live in a small town called Bradford 30 miles away from Jackson tn I'm 17 I drive and scrap with my dodge ram 1500 ss/t it gets around 12 mpg I get a couple of my friends that are 18 to actually sell my scrap to the scrapyard (dales recycling in Milan tn) I try to get into all types of scrapping copper aluminum cans shred everything I can especially with no job and a gashog of a truck while I'm on this anyone have tips for scrapping a mobile home or should I make a new thread I would like to learn the basic rules and just how thing's work so anything I need to just please tell me

Welcome to the forum. Not to be rude, but first off, PLEASE try using periods. This will work to your benefit, as alot of the members may just stop reading after a few words if you don't.
There is a couple of threads on scrapping a mobile home, consult the search bar in the upper right hand corner. There is a wealth of info here, and the members are awesome, but you are encouraged to read old posts, as alot of questions have been addressed many times. Anywho... Read the old threads. Notice at the bottom of each thread there is a list of similar threads. Read the "new" threads each day. If you do this you will increase profits and recognize opportunities you would not have other wise. Mike

Welcome from the Dakota's. In the old threads you will find information about pulling the wire, tools needed to cut the aluminum/tin, scrapping water pipe, furnaces, and everything else in a mobile home. Some threads talk about how to get more than scrap price for items. Hats off to you to start a project such as a mobile home at such an early age. You have a bright future a head of you. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum. You are still young enough to become a scrap millionaire. and you found the right place to help you make that happen. just diligently study old threads. Read , read, read.

Re guarding the mobile home, they are a pain in the A**. and pretty much a break even on most of them. That said every scrapper should do at least two, the profit is all in what you will learn about scrapping. If I had a scrapping school those would be my class hands on project. They plus this forum will give you a degree in the scrap business. You will learn what to do and what not to do and, how and how not to do things They contain about every type of scrap there is as well as every problem you will face in this business.

Now valuable lesson one agree to do them if the owner will be responsible for the useless waste, big headache taken care of. Lesson 2. floors and carpets are a bitc*.. The are generally screwed to a 2x4 attached to the metal frame by metal pins. It is much easier to crawl underneath and cut those pins. Just my .02.

And the manufacturer loves square headed lag screws, either break them off or grind/torch them off.
Some scrappers charge about $500. per trailer and the scrap is the gravy.

thanks everybody and I've definately been reading threads even ones I don't know about. and I've already realized I've missed a lot of money in E-scrap. my dad fixes and gives me unfixable computers. and until now I've sold them as shred because I didn't know you could take gold off of them so definately looking into that after this mobile home

You should do well then, young man. I wish I had started earlier. When I was 17 we used to USE the tv's and stereos people put out at the curb!!! And we never saw computers out there, because they were new!!!
