    Mitchell

My name is Mitch, I own a small computer repair business in Western Arkansas. For the past 10 years, I've been bringing all of my scrap to the local recycling place and just giving it to them. I'm sure I haven't given them a fortune in material, but I was throwing profits right down the drain the whole time. I've been saving gold fingers and whole RAM/processors for about a year, as well as aluminum/copper heat sinks, but only now am I starting to get into seriously scrapping and wanting to learn all that I can about the process. I'm looking to have some fun learning a little bit of chemistry in doing some of the gold recovery myself, make a little extra money in waste that I was just throwing away before, and do my part to make sure some of this e-waste isn't ending up in landfills. If I can do that and make some money, I'll be a happy guy!

I read a thread on this forum that was produced from a google query "recycle ABS plastic". Some of you folks seem pretty knowledgeable about this stuff. I look forward to meeting and working with some of you!

I changed the title. Imagine 2-3000 Introductions - all titled "Hello".
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    Welcome, Mitch!

I too am a computer shop owner in Hawaii. I was doing exactly the same thing, but it was in large volumes. Fortunately, I started seeing the bright side of scrap and started raking in the pennies.

Welcome aboard, and best of luck in your new venture.

Welcome Mitch. You will get a good scrapers education here, you will need to read a lot of the old post for the best education. Don't think twice about asking for help, but always best do a little digging into those old post. What you don't know, almost always someone hear will and that exchange of questions and answers helps all of us. Where are you located in W. Arkansas? I'm in S. California now, but grew up in Polk county. Still a Razorback!

The acronym, "Knowledge is Power" is legitimate. The folks here are more than "seem pretty knowledgable," we are brilliant actually.
