    New and excited!

Growing up I remembered the excitement I had when we would go to the scrap yard. My parents were not scrappers but we did save all are aluminum cans. I remember crushing them in the garage with my dad using the device he installed on the wall. We would save some bags and make the trip to the yard. I recall being so impressed that we would walk away with money for something people would throw away. My dad would explain to me how it was not a lot of money but it would be enough for us to go out for a meal.

There are many reasons I am starting to scrap, albeit on a small scale. I love the idea of the value of metals. I started with PM a couple years ago but am drawn to non PM even more. I personally think all metal is precious in my mind as it represent tangible worth. I have been reading articles in an attempt to learn as much as I can. This will be a slow process as I am in school so free time is a premium but small scale or better yet microscopic scale is better than no scale!

I am at the point where any money is simple a bonus as the journey is what interests me at this time. I can work on maximizing time, efficiency and profit after I get my feet wet. I am interested mainly in E-waste at this time as I have no large vehicle and the fact that there is some PM's in there interests me. I am excited and eager to get my feet wet! Thank you to all who have contributed to the knowledge base here at my disposal. Have a great weekend folks!

Scrapping is exciting every day because you never know what you are going to find. School is a great place to network for scrap. you interact with people every day and you can use them as a resource for scrap. Tell your friends what you do and the kind of things you look for. Talk to the school, see what they do with their e waste. Talk to everyone and you will be surprised what you will get your hands on.
    good luck!
