Hey guys! I'm CrownVicScrapper,
Im one of the younger members here but I've done a lot with with years I do have under my belt - I started working for direct sales giant Canadian Property Stars when I was 13, Aerating 2000+ lawns for them over 5 years and have gone through all of their internal training and sales seminars. I've completed 5000 hours as a chef's apprentice and last year I started a small engine repair company that did pretty well and did work for over 200 clients.
I'm in my first year of the " Business - Management and Entrepreneurship" program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. I'm getting lots of hands on business experience and access to business resources I didn't even know existed a year ago. Its very time consuming and tedious at times, but it is exactly what I am interested in and most of it comes to me very easily.
I started scrapping when I saw how much the pile of dead mowers I accumulated over the year was worth. From there its been a race to collect as much scrap as I can. I go out on garbage day, I browse the free section the classifieds, I have a few larger ongoing scrap removal jobs now, I buy sealed units and electric motors from a few local scrappers that I process.
So after not to long I got a solid business plan together and have already been approved for Ontario's "Summer Company" grant. I'm receiving up to $3k in funding and plan to invest a good chunk of my own to get a truck - not that there's anything wrong with the vic!
I've learned a lot from the forums and hope to give back as much as I can! I'll be posting pictures of the food bank I'm scrapping tomorrow morning.
