I've been on the site about a month now and just noticed that I never did and intro post. I came to the site looking for an answer and got caught up reading what everyone else had to say. It's nice to see that other people have the same questions and similar practices as myself. Every time I scrap something for the first time I'm winging it and there is a lot of great information here. I work for a moving company and am in a pretty good position to acquire old electronics and appliances. A lot of our customers move internationally and their stuff won't work where they are moving and everyone has an old tv or stove they don't want. So I started scrapping almost as a hobby until I brought in some serious money on one of my first big scores. I was hooked. I started looking into the problems and profits of e-waste and it's disposal and I saw an opportunity for me to both help the earth out and bring additional money in to support my family. I've only been scrapping and recycling e-waste for about a year and a half but I have learned so much already and learn something almost every time I take something apart. It's amazing that you can learn so much about how something works while you are breaking it. I'm still a part timer but I'm already a lifer. Making money off of other people's garbage literally changed how I look at that world.
