    Escrap in north central Ohio

    Hi I'm about an hour either way between Cleveland and Columbus. I recently started scrapping electronics. I haven't made a dime yet. I have been tearing apart everything I can get ahold of. Does anyone know where to sell tantalum capacitors and platinum/palladium capacitors in northern Ohio? Also if you have info on a buyer for basic escrap closer then Cleveland or Columbus that would be helpful. Thanks.

    Do you just want a buyer, or do you want some good buyers?? There is a difference. With the second you get good/great service and great prices.

    One of our better e-waste buyers is close to Cleveland. If you had more post I would send you a private mesage but I can't do that till you have 6 or 7 post. You can find him in the buyer/seller section.

    I've heard of a place in Eastlake. that's gonna probably be my best bet. will it be more profitable for me to sell my boards whole or harvest the IC's, Tantalum caps, some platinum caps that can be removed without being crushed, brass, copper, gold plate, aluminum, and steel myself and save? My thought is doing it all myself will pay big in the long run, but the buyer I've I do that they wont even give low grade price. Its not been easy to restrain myself from stripping the hand full of boards I have completely but I don't want screw myself either. Any experienced escrappers have some tips?

    Wow, where do I start?? Your answers are already here, you just have to do some reading in the direction we pointed you. We have great buyers (and not in Eastlake) and if you try to refine it yourself you'll throw away at least half if you don't kill yourself in the process. Start reading here;
