    Noob here

    Hello fellow scrapers,
    My names Paul, I'm 24,
I'm a electrician apprentice during the day and scrapper at night I drive a 4x4 s10 I usually go curb shopping for metal I've been doing it for about 2 weeks my best days have been Monday thru Wednesdays I've been coming home with truck loads on those nights. I've usually try to only stay out for 2-3 hrs max and usually make 75-150 a night minus 20 bucks for gas I grab anything metal even something has small has a broom handle. I also make sure to get receipts from the scrap yard so I can add it up at the end of the month just to see what I made for person knowledge. But if you guys have any tips to help me out or tips to make it so I can fit more in my truck would be greatly appreciated.
    Have a good day

    Welcome from Upstate NY!

My tip is...check out the For sale -> Free section on craigslist and follow up on any leads you can find. I've found that if I go follow up on a craigslist post, 9/10 I'll end up with more stuff than I went out for, either from the poster or seeing curbed items on the way there/back.

Also, garage sales, especially towards the end. People hold garage sales to get rid of "junk" and not to make money. A lot of times, they'll end up just throwing stuff at you and begging you to take it away. Whether it's scrap, resellable gizmo or an antique they only want a dollar for, it's well worth the time to go check these garage/yard/estate sales out.

Oh, and if you're an electrician's apprentice, you definitely know where to find wire. 'Nuff said.

Great start to your new business, treat it like one. Do you haul straight to the yard or do breakdowns at home?? To add to what Matty was saying, I started out handing out business cards at yard sales explaining that I would haul away their left overs when the sale was done. Clothes went to the nonprofits, scrap went to me, anything still nice went to our next yard sale or Ebay, and old outdated electronics I started tearing down.

To do that you need some storage room to sort and possibly store.

Hello! what month (if you dont mind) where you born in? I'm 24 my self and did you scrap that bike? From my understanding schwinn bikes are worth just a tab more than scrap.

Last night was good night scored some copper pipe, brass fittings and a commercial grade ac that I have to rip apart and lots of light iron.
Also got pulled over the cop was a **** at first asking me tons of questions and took down all of my info and told me that the ac better not stolen I told exactly where it was and he could go there if they like and talk to the owners
