    Hello everybody

I'm fairly new to the scrapping game and have come across the problem of being in a rural area where people just don't want to give up their rusting machines or metals. How does a person go about getting full loads with ease. I've heard a couple people in my area making up to $400 a day just scrapping and when I turned in a bunch of my own yard debris (steel) I found out that it is possible, only the distance to where I am finding stuff is too far and not worth the drive. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum from Dakota Territories. Contacts, references, and networking are the keys to business. $ 400 per day not worth your time to drive is a problem I wish I had. $ 80,000 per year would be worth 12 hour days for the freedom and control of this lifestyle. I would drive to the moon for this type of money and freedom. Good luck.

Welcome from connecticut I wish I made 400 a day but I don't scrap full time I do it for extra cash were I love there's scrapers everywhere some of them give us bad names because the steal but if I was you and could make that kind of money I would figure that's 50 bucks a hr if you did it for a 8hr day. I limit my self to 2 to 2-1/2 hrs a night I usually make 50 to 150 in 2 hrs minus gas which is usually never more then a quarter take of gas. My advice would be find your sweet spot in your town and keep it ur secret and tell you friends you scrap .my buddies call me when ever they see scrap. Most of all have fun and don't get mad when you have a bad day, the way I scrap is like gambling lol, also check Craigslist for free scrap or free curb and you will find stuff
