    Greetings from Upstate NY!

Hi folks, I appreciate you taking the time to read this thread. I am brand new to scrapping and working out of Saratoga Springs, NY. There is quite a bit to learn and I will be doing my best to become a knowledgeable scrapper. Any helpful hints will be greatly appreciated. I just came back from my first night of scrapping and was able to get several projection TV's of various sizes, a washing machine, vacuum cleaner along with several other ferrous metal objects. I know(I guess) I want to concentrate on non-ferrous metals but I find it hard to pass anything up. It is exciting and mystifying all at the same time. Best of luck to everyone out there!

    Matt

Welcome to the forum from a sandbar off the coast of NC.

You found the best forum for scrapping knowledge. Or as some of us like to call it, Scrap University. Best advice I can give you is devote time each day to reading this forum. Pick a section an read those archives. Tons of information is available at your fingertips an more is added daily.

I can understand wanting to focus on non-ferrous, but sometimes you gotta deal with ferrous to get the goodies. An besides, it's all money in the bank. I started doing it all, nowadays I focus mainly on ewaste. I still pick up ferrous tho. Good money in it all if you work it smart. An really..it's a good way to learn about the scrap game.

Good luck, an let us know how things go for you.
