It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Seriously though, you can literally trip over the information you seek 1000 times over on this site by using the search feature.

Thank you all for the reply. I asked because I have access to 1200 PC (Dell™ Dimension™ 4600) and would like to know how much I can sell each DT by piece or buy pound. I really appreciate all your help guys. God bless you all.

Look in the buyers / sellers section to see what they're paying for the individual pieces.

It varies with the Dells because some have more finger cards, cd/dvd drives, and ram memory installed than others.

Medani, are they complete towers, not missing any components?

If the 4600 are complete not missing anything. They should net you on average about $7 to $10 in scrap value. Bad part is they are p4 which means green fiber cpu and the cheaper motherboards. so will really depend on ram and hard drives that are int hem.

And you need to find a good buyer close to you as shipping would be a profit buster on 1200 units. Need someone within a few hours drive, break them down to individual components for better packing, and sell the carcasses locally.

How far is Cleveland from you??

I dream of the day I have the """problem""" of dealing with 1200 P4s.!!!

That could easily be a $10,000-12,000 'problem'... possibly more.

With 50 PCs on each pallet, that's one 53' trailer loaded with 24 pallets. Haul the load to my buddy's doggy day-care business housed in an old warehouse with a loading dock. I'd take a week off, call my wife's uncle to bring his horse trailer over for the CPU carcasses... put 2 gaylords for mobos in my little trailer, and one for fibos in my truck, one gaylord each for CDdrives, floppydrives, wire, and heatsinks in my other trailer, with two more gaylords on standby for powersupplies while I figure out a resale venue for those. One big bin each for resale harddrives (two bins?), resale CPUs, resale RAM... Working with gusto, I could get those all broken down in one week solo... less if I called in a couple day laborers.

Heck I got this thing firgured out. Give me the contact info & I'll come do it!!!

There is a couple of buyers within 2-3 hours of you that pay well, would be worth a "roadtrip" with a pickup load of boards and accessories.
I've made the trip a few times and I'm 5 hours away but it was worth it to me. Go thru the computer section and see what needs broken down and how far. That would be the best money for you. Depends on if you want to mess with them to brake them down or not.
