    New member from NH

Just found and joined the forum. From NH, I actually work for Hypertherm (manufacturer of plasma cutting torches) in Lebanon, NH, have for 36 years in a variety of capacities. I also have a metal fabricating shop at home (mostly hobby stuff, a little bit of paid work!) where I have cnc plasma cutting, hand plasma cutting and a variety of welding and metal fabricating tools. I generate a fair amount of scrap....which I haul to the nearest scrap facility (30 miles in Claremont NH) every 3 months or so.

Primary reason I joined is to help answer any questions about plasma cutting, as I do on a dozen or so other forums. I do work for a manufacturer of plasma cutters, but I am not here to sell or promote (we don't sell direct anyway....you have to buy Hypertherm cutters through independent welding distributors), but will help answer any questions about plasma cutting capability and how it pertains to use by those in the scrap metal industry.

There are a lot of different brands of plasma cutters and a lot of different capabilities in terms of cut thickness, cut speeds, portability, etc. I can even help point users in the right direction if they are experiencing issues with their existing cutters. There is some recent new technology.....hand plasma torches up to 4' long that work well for the necessary long reach that normally you would use an oxy-fuel scarfing torch for.....plasma will do the same job in a fraction of the time, and with no flammable gases. Yes, you need power and compressed air.....but a lot less (small compressor, small generator if in the field) than many think!

Anyway, I'll search to forums and see if there is any help, advice, answers that I can provide.
