New e-scrapper in Kansas City - Page 2

Welcome! If you don't mind me asking, which side are you on- Kansas or Missouri? I was in Kansas City, MO two years ago. What a beautiful place! I'd like to visit again, some time.

Ditto on the cartridges. I don't know if they still do, but Staples used to pay $2 per cartridge. For some printers, you'd have $8 without even disassembling. I pull the boards and scrap the rest. The laser printers can be worth more than scrap- I sold two of them for $60 each this month. Much better than scrap prices

Concerning plastics, the only place I know of in the region is not that close to KC. Asset lifecycles they use to be in Topeka but have moved to a town south of Topeka. The name of which escapes me at this time. Welcome to the forum and e-scrapping.

it's been some time (again) since I've checked out this great scrapper site. I've been having fun still breaking down e-scrap. Every computer is different. For the super newbies...be sure to label and sort all your scrap. Makes it a lot easier to figure out what you have when you get ready to sell it, a big mistake I made was just throwing things in general bins and no labels. It was difficult to figure out a CD board from a hard disk board in the beginning of my scrapper adventures. Well everybody, enjoy.

I am in need of some shipping advice. Been holding off on shipping stuff because of the cost and the inefficient people at the post office. Also, the web sites are confusing - can't figure out what is best.
So, my question are this:
If I am shipping about 10 pounds of cpu's, memory sticks and c/d boards, mother boards, computer wire, etc, how do I send them off to a buyer without loosing a large quantity of profit to the shipper? Or is it just better to sell the boards on e-bay for gold/silver recovery? I've been looking around on the forum for answers, and, of course, end up reading everything else. (LOVE THE FORUM). Thanks to everyone

There is a whole forum here dedicated to this question. You are missing out on a lot of information to put $$$ in your pocket by not researching.
