NJ Here, have lots of scrap, need insight

Howdy, scanning over the forum, I see this is the friendliest and most informative scrapper forums.

I own a Radiator shop and have several hundred pounds of Brass/Copper Radiator & Aluminum Radiators. All Clean.

Considering I have so much, is it possible for me to bypass the scrap yards and sell it all to the outlets that buy from local scrap yards?



I have called around and the prices have been down recently, not even worth to get rid of. Even when I say I have 600+ pounds of clean brass radiators to recycle.....

Any insight is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Don't know where your at in jersey,but, right over the bridge in Delaware I always get paid more for larger loads .Diamond State Recycling

Well first of all welcome, second I can tell you that while you are trying to get the most for your scrap and I understand that, what you have to understand is that you are a Radiator shop not a licensed scrap dealer, you might think that you have a lot of goods 600 lbs by no means is a lot of radiators on a wholesale basis what do you have 40-50 copper rads? If the prices a low in your area and you don't have to sell them then keep saving until the market goes up witch may not happen. You must have a big shop to get together 40-50 copper rads or you have been saving them up for a few years, as we know copper rads in auto's are a thing of the past 99% are aluminum with the exception of trucks, so the plain truth is when you want to sell your rads call around to the company's and sell them to the highest paying yard. Don't mean to be snappy at you but I think you are being a little greedy, especially when you got the goods for free.

"Free" or the cost of doing his busniess? Either way I would want to make the most for them!
