New to the forum from South Dakota

Greetings! I've cruised around the forum a few times and finally decided to join up. I live in southeast SD and do a little scrapping on the side as a hobby. I've always believed in recycling materials if they had value but got more into metal scrapping the past year or so, concentrating mainly on electronics but I've also done A/Cs, small frigs, microwaves, and anything I can fit into a 4-door sedan (unless I sweet talk the wifey in letting me borrow the van!). I know a young guy from eastern Canada on this forum (longhairboy ?) that I also know from my trapping forum. I hope to learn a bunch and to share my ups and down of finding recycling "treasures". Welcome from the forum from another Dakota Territory hermit. Located in Clark County and the Black Hills. Where are you located. Great forum with interesting people. Patience is not one of my virtues, so the main concentration is farm clean ups. Good luck and we love pictures.

Patriot76- I'm in metro Sioux Falls. At least around here, farm cleanups may be dwindling. Fewer actual farms and those that are around are pretty organized. A lot of former farm places are now exurban residences. Still, if they have a shelterbelt, there's probably recyclable metal laying in the trees...Clark & the Black Hills, that's a substantial geographic spread. I suspect Clark is (was) the home area and a second place out in the Hills?

Jonniebrass- My mom grew up in Mass. a long time ago. The town of Hopedale by Milford sw of Boston about 30+ miles. I have no connections out there anymore and haven't been back since 2002. I'd like to take a kids there someday just to show them. A pretty different region than around here.

Kiwi- Wow! that's a long, long ways away from here. Are you pretty limited in places to sell your scrap?
