Time to reintroduce yourselves - How did you get your forum name?

When we join the forum we are either out for a quick answer or shy. Now it is time to open up and tell us the inspiration for your forum name. (I did a search on this topic and could not find a thread.) If it is there I will put on the dunce cap and go to the corner and research the topic again like we lecture to all newcomers (notice the category this is posted in).

To start I will list my reasons:

Have been a Patriots fan since 1976.
Love history and read about the impact scrapping had on the victory in WWII, the survival of an entire group of people and the Patriot gardens during this time of history.

Yes these are true statements even though some might challenge them. So what is your story? If you do not respond, I might have to start taking guesses.

I have no cool story to go with my name, or anything fun.

As you all know I listen to all kinds of music, an the night I joined, I had just happened to listen to some Sirmixalot's Baby Got back earlier in the week. So while I was sitting here making a name, an prepping my intro..it came to me! I like to scrap-a-lot. An hey..I'm a guy.

So it all came together to give you the amazing..Sirscrapalot.

Edited to add: Fun thread Patriot, I look for to others replies.

When I first joined I couldn't think of a catchy screen name. Soooo, I put together my CB radio "handle" (or radio name) that I've had for 30+ years and a call sign for when I talked on the sideband side of the radio. I used the 688 on sideband when I talked "skip" or outside of the 100 mile limit. (slightly illegal)
So I just combined the two for lack of anything better. Has nothing to do with being an auto mechanic even tho I've done a lot of the repairs on my own vehicles over the years. My radio customers thought the "Mechanic" handle was fitting because I was their radio mechanic for over 10 years.

    That's all I got.

Well my real name is Jim and the guys at work have called me Jimmycrack for about 20 years now. I decided to use that for my gmail account but it was already used by someone else so I shortened it to jimicrk. When I found this forum I figured I'd use it here. I realize now that being a scrapper and having crack as part of your name is probably not good but what's done is done.

    Scrapper yes. Crackhead no.

Oh and BTW in 1977 Han shot first!!!

Well, mine's not so creative. You see, I'm a peanut farmer (don't think Jimmy Carter, he about killed us). So when I'm not tearing apart computers or metal buildings, I'm actually driving a tractor (or repairing equipment). You can bet when something wears out or breaks that I'm all over it to scrap it. The only problem is those green parts sure lose their resale value when the paint's worn off.

I got my nickname in College. Went through a "first love breakup" and became a little "Err.. umm.. off?" Lots of hate, lots of destruction.. I solidified my name one evening by swinging completely through a 27" TV and breaking off the end of the picnic table the TV was sitting on. It was my tool of choice.. now I utilize my tool for good and not evil.. but I'm still pretty dang handy with a 10 lb sledge!

Ok I'm in. My name is Jon (no h). A lot of people call me Jonnie , I always spelled it without the y since I was young. When I first started scrapping out my basement of my collection of clean outs of parent and grandparents houses I discovered brass. At that time I thought copper was king and pushed the brass to the side. I happened to bring some brass in and was surprised by the price. So I continued cleaning up and ended up with about 200 pounds of brass. Seems wife's grandfather had a penchant for saving brass. So there you go my name and my favorite metal.

joined back in 2010. about 3-4 months prior to joining SMF I started a small e-scrap business , jerseyscrapper.com. local free pickups of scrap metal and e- scrap . spent about 5 months on this site (before it blew up to were it is now !!! ) very happy to see how its exploded to all this. let me tell you when I placed an ad in the local scrap pick up thread they have I think people still to this day find me via SMF!!!!! its been 4 years since I placed that ad lol now that's some good SEO!! (search engine optimization) well I was inactive for about 2 years now since logging back in today!!! and first thing I did was get my scrap room member account back active! our main business managing REO foreclosures with my brother took up all our life finally getting a slow break , going on 5 years now, that just blew up that we are to the point that now have 3 full time employees not including my brother and myself... anyways back to my username!.. I live in NJ (central to be exact) and jersey scrapper was born . I currently have the website name for sale.. debating if i should dust off the old passwords log back in and bring it back to life! have my first ever t-shirts I printed lol they don't fit now but look good folded away in the closet. joined SMF to look, learn and listen, found great contacts and business partners and I'm ready to get back in the saddle and make up 2 years of missed threads!!!! haha. hope everyone is doing well!!!!
*i have scrap metal running through my blood and i love it*

Not in the original. It was changed when they added to the movie, when it was re-released again the theaters. Lucas didn't like Han being thought of as a cold blooded killer.

It pisses the Star wars fanboys off. Go try it. I do it to my friends all the time. It's like saying Kirk was a horrible Capt, or Spock was a twit.

It gets the fan boys riled up. Same with Apple ones.."WINDOWS IS THE BEST!" *Insert Mac fanboys heads exploding from anger*

In case you want to read more on it, I was kind enough to include a link. Han shot first - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From George Lucas: "The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn’t. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down."

An this thread is still AUsome. I blame the rest for starting the hijacking. Silly trekkies.

Sirscrapalot - I like messing with nerds. Bonus quote: We all got a little nerd in us.
