On the way to a wedding 15 years ago, I pulled over on the shoulder of the highway to pick up a rusted off cat on the side of the road while in suit and tie. Wifey hollered it out the window and stuck ever since. Seems unoriginal now after watching reruns of that scrapping reality show. Should have copyrighted it!

Ok, I'll add. I delivered pizza for Dominos in the 80's and we drivers would party at night and watch SNL. They had a skit, Toonces the driving cat. Well, my name being Todd, I got the nickname Toonces the driving cat. When I got a computer in '95, I needed a screen name for AOL. Toonces was taken t00nces was taken. Toonces2 was taken. t00nces2 was not. I have used t00nces2 for just about everything since.

I always ready your name as "two ounces"..... in reference to..... the mar-i-juana, or other drugs. LOL

My name is boring and just my initials.... surprised it wasn't already taken.... although this site doesnt have the number of users as like.... gmail... for example, so a lot better chances of getting this username

Nothing very interesting here i'm afraid.

When i rehab a computer and load a new operating system .... It usually asks me to give it a name of some kind. I tend to use natural features like river, rain, sun, sky and so on.

Thus ... hills. Simple and *ahem* down to earth ? Ayuh .... good enough.

Yeah, all of a sudden I'm not as cool.... I am a member of the Kitco board (precious metals). On a similar thread there, they thought it was two Ounces... like two ounces of gold or silver.

Toonces the driving cat. The cat that could drive a car.
He drives around, all over town.
    Toonces the driving cat.

Every episode ended with the same car driving off the same cliff. Love it!

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

That makes sense. I have a lot of systems here to keep track of- most of them are single-task machines only (Like a DDR2 RAM tester for example). So, to keep track of things all computers are given female names, and peripherals get male names. I avoid names that can go both ways, like Sam (I'd just use "Samantha" for a computer instead for clarity)

It's fun when I get all the hard drive testers going. If I'm running all 8 of them at once, I always respond to the "What were you doing today" question with "Playing with the girls". The HDD testers are named in alphabetical order too so I can tell which machine to go to if I need to pull a log
