Hello to all from Columbus,Ohio. My name is Mike and I have been scrapping on and off for over 20 years. In the first 10 years it was just cars and auto parts, took a few years off, then just copper and brass when I was working as an electrician, and then the last 5 years, I learned a whole lot about shred and non ferrous, and where to find it and learned the hard way about processing. In the last 2 years I have been focusing more towards e-waste as I am working a full time job now and only scrapping part time. I wanted to chime in with my 2 cents. Where I go, all wires must be cleaned of any terminal ends, bulbs, tape, clips, ect. Even after cleaning we get .85 cents a pound, just went up, has been .75 all summer. I like the forum here, usually only able to look about 10 minutes a day so thats why I haven't said anything til now, been reading for about 3 months.
