    Howdy from central texas

Well I finally joined after lurking on and off for a while. The $27.00 is certainly a bargain. I have been scrapping since the 60's and just recently got into e-scrap. I just do it now to supplement my social security. Once you get around scrap you can never quit. Many thanks to admin and the members of SMF for making this such a great forum.

Hi Gravitar, I use cmc recycling on industrial Blvd. Also go to All American Recycling sometimes depends on the price on the particular metal.

Oh so your down south. I went to All American once and won't go there again unless I absolutely have to. They had good prices but their yard is so messy and terribly run. CMC (at least on Howard Ln) pays good on non-ferrous except for motors. Their shred prices suck. Gardner and Austin Metal and Iron are also good.

Yes I'm down in the oak hill area. I sometimes buy steel from all American for fabrications but it is not a well organized yard. CMC will give better pricing if you have quanity just like most yards. Gardner sells them shred all the time. I just don't get the quanity anymore.
