    Greetings from RVA

Another new guy here - this one's from Richmond. In the transportation business but am looking to scrap some items here and there as opportunities pop up. Currently have a bunch of electronics I'm breaking down: desktop PCs, and CRT monitors and TVs. Looking forward to learning the ropes around here. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum from your neighbor to the north . Great place to learn or share idea's , tons of knowledge in the older threads . I reccomend researching items before breaking them down . Don't forget to check the buyers thread to maximize returns on certain items . Researching here has saved me time and made me more $ at the yard , more importantly the knowledge lasts a lifetime .
Good luck in your scrapping adventure .

Welcome! I'm new at monitors and tv's myself and learned last week the the tape / insulation on the degaussing cable is easily remove on these fine -25 Minnesota
winter days. Just fold it up to put it in the bin and the insulation crumbled off. What a pleasant surprise that was.
    Never stop learning and sharing.

CrazyGuy1710 - Cheers bud! I live and work in the Far West End. Just trying to get a few extra bucks in my down time to cover my visits to Hardywood and Mekong.

CuAl - Thanks! I'm looking to crack my first CRT this week, just working through my discharge process in my head until I go for it. Have one that's been sitting since '07 to start with, then I'll move on to the more recently unplugged units. Temps here probably aren't low enough to help like that but we'll see, I have them stored in an old truck outside.
