    dehumidifires freezer, etc.

I have recently cut open some freezer units and found the main shaft to be steel with lots of alum. on both ends. Iv melted off the alum. to find the globs to have a luster of gold finish on the outside( possibly on the inside as well). I haven't cut into them yet. Iv been reading about a small amount of gold being used in almost everything electronic, especially older items. what materials do I need to check the properties of such items? AM also looking for the best and cheapest way to strip automotive wireing. does it degrade the value if you burn it off, and is there any gold content in the connecter pins and sockets? Again THANKS MUCH TO ALL!!!!!!!!!I SEE at the bottom of this page is a box with the word tags above it. can anyone tell me what this is?
Ialso scroll down and see the phrase, post a poll. Idont know what this is either. I guess I need to do some homework on this site, or maybe contact the admin. Also I need to get a good camera and learn how to post images.

Welcome. I hope you had that refrigerant properly recovered. There are hefty fines for doing it improperly and without the proper creds. Spend some time researching old threads. There is a lot posted on this.

Also this forum does not encourage or recommend burning insulation off of wire.
