Thank you so much, and you and only others are right. I let that narcissistic tool get me wound up and I just wanted to defend all of the great people and their helpful comments. It seems to be a good community save one jackass. I love the "Break down challenge" idea "dyepes" has, that's the kind of creativity I expected from a forum like this. I would love to see or learn how some of you pros break down items to scrap. I know I'm slow at it 'cuz I'm exploring and trying to understand a device or appliance, but also learn what's valuable too. It definitely fuels my inner "fascinated by shiny objects" & "he rides the short bus" child, so my vote is that this is truly fun!
On a recent run I had 500+pounds of light iron (stuff that just had to go) that yielded $25 bucks or so, while my 17 pounds of aluminum yielded $8.50. 2 old ladies with a basket of stripped copper wire & made away with $750! That fueled me to get more involved and look & learn where more valuable scrap lives & hides. It was inspiring to see that little amount of copper (relatively) make so much cash. Fun!!
