    Hello from Chicago.

Hello everyone. Have been dealing with scrap and this site for some time, recently got back into it. Looking to expand and get more "official" experience than the past which consisted of the usual lawnmowers and appliances. I'm a mechanic and my employer recently asked me if I wanted to buy some of their scrap which consists mainly of brake rotors and drums, catalytics and radiators as well as shred which I'd be getting for free if I bite. Still have my old truck and really want to go again but I'm not sure what to pay them. Have to figure that out. Thanks and will be posting again soon.

Welcome from south of the city. Personally I wouldn't pay for any steel/Iron scrap at the time being. Good luck

I would agree with Greytruck as prices for steel/tin are really low right now, almost not worth loading. Now rotors/drums are usually worth 1-2 cents more than regular steel if you have volume. I'd find a set price for cat's and offer 1/4 or 1/3 the scrap price for rad's.

** The set price I would go with would be the cheapest cat. as you won't get all cheap ones, and that is where your profit would be.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies
