I have been a scavenger /crumb snatcher for years but only recently stumbled upon this forum and found it interesting. Not really a scrapper per-se but an industrial surplus guy. There is no way to deal with industrial surplus and not end up with a fair amount of scrap- not intentionally generally but more by default. I do run into a fair amount of copper, scrap silver from contacts and fuses, hastelloy and other exotics from industry. Equipment list includes several forklifts, a telescopic forklift, a carry-deck crane, several trucks and a number of assorted trailers.
I was taught from a poor upbringing- and very early on- to never waste anything. Missing from the list of 7 deadly sins is waste and it should be at the very top. I absolutely hate to see anything wasted. In fact, you may have seen me. If you drove past a scrap dumpster and saw a pair of legs kicking for balance out the top, it may very well have been me.
Greetings.
