Welcome to SMF from the Dakota's. You have found a great place to hang out, learn, and be entertained by a wide variety of scrappers. Hope you enjoy your stay and good luck.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

    Greetings from Wyoming!

The archives are full of useful tips. I'd start there: http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/archive/index.php

There is enough information on this site to fill a library. What are you looking to scrap?

    Welcome to the forum.
I would start out by reading as much as you can here.
Learn how to identify different types of metals and types of scrap.
Check your area for scrap yards and see how much they are paying. Some have websites and update prices daily.
Make sure you have buyers for your scrap before you start.
If you decide to scrap TV's and CRT monitors make sure you have a place to legally dispose of the tubes.
The last thing you want to do is scrap for a year and realize you can't get rid of any leftover waste or find a buyer for the scrap.
