    New to The Forum

    Hello Group,

My name is Michelle and I am the owner of Junk It Junk Removal in Portland, Oregon. We do not scrap but I came across a few articles that pertained to our business, specifically the Every Door direct mail service. We are trying this out for the first time.

I love junk removal. We take most everything. From Trash to items that need to be donated. It is amazing sometimes what people pay us to haul away.

I hope to learn a lot from all of you.

Welcome. I would think that in your business you could come across a lot of metal items, that you could scrap or sell for better than scrap value. I think its great that you donate items instead of just taking them to the dump.

We do pick up a lot of metal and old computers and T.Vs. Just seems like when we make extra trips to scrap it sometimes is not worth it. We sometimes leave metal out for the our local scrapper to pick up, a win win
It could be that we do not break it down and separate it. Not sure if paying our crew 12.00 an hour to break it down would be worth it?

Maybe not, If you can give it away to someone who needs it instead of landfill it is a win win
