New to Forum, Looking for a Pricing Expert on Industrial Equipment

    Hello,

My name is Paul, I grew up working for a professional scrapper. My father was an expert at finding valuable metals in bulk and I was his employee. I recently ran across some industrial equipment that I am trying to price right on Ebay or I am considering scrapping it. I am seeking some insight as to what I have in terms of metals and values of this equipment. I can provide pictures easily. Thank you in advance for any information in accessing it's value as I have probably over 50 pieces of large heavy duty valves and piping. I think most of it is brass, but some of it is not. Thank again for help identifying some of it and accessing a value. I am located in Central FL.

    Respectfully,

    Paul Mattey

Welcome to SMF from the Dakota's. Sawmilleng provided me a source for such items about two years ago, long forgotten. If he sees your thread, he might chime in. Good luck.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

After you make a few posts (I think it's 10?), you'll be able to send private messages. If sawmilleng doesn't see this, I'd PM him on it.

We may be able to help you on some of the items with photos, but Sawmilleng will be your best bet.

I'm blushing with all the confidence being expressed about my opinions!! Not sure I can live up to those expectations, though!!

You gotta post some photos so we can get a starting point. Big pipe and fittings to some can be 2", to others big is 20". If it's brass valves, I doubt that it is much over 6" unless it is some specialized stuff (for example, non-sparking)

Is it new, or lightly used, or straight outta WWII?

What about the pipe and other fittings? Is it brass, too? What kind of wall thickness? Any markings on the fittings? Threaded? Flanged?

If you can post a few photos we can start from there to try to help.

    Thanks,
    Jon.
