Hey, I am a new member to SMF but I'm not a new member to the scraping business. I have been in the business since I was 10 so going on 8 years almost 9. I have dealt in cleaning out houses that have been abandoned or foreclosed to working in the middle of the woods miles and miles away from a paved road or even a dirt road. Some things that I have taken apart range from simple things like Usb sticks to things like cars and machinery. I have worked from the most northern parts of Maine to the southern parts of Maine. I am (someday) going to expand out of Maine into other states of America. With only being 18 years old and a girl I have a lot of intentions in being in this business for quite a few years more. Even though I have experience of a 30 year old in the business due to being in the business for sometime. I am looking to see other people on SMF to help me with tips and other ideas. I am willing to do the same! Even though people may think that it is weird that a girl my age is in this business I find it quite normal. I mainly work with dismantling things and keeping records, but I love working out in the yard and the field of dismantling because I get to be curious and learn new things everyday. I may retire I may not but if I do it is because of I either cant walk anymore or I have been put into the ground. I have experiences in dismantling cars and then fixing them right back up in the next day. I have had a few bad accidents due to being naïve and stupid. Lets say I fell on a hood latch and the latch won. Tip to you all don't stand on milk creates and expect them not to tip over with the wrong footing. The hook had went into my right upper forearm and it missed major nerves and major blood vessels by an eighth of an inch and only bruised the muscle in my arm. I have slowed down a bit from the accident (it makes me feel old) but I did because I have had many people to slow down with my work including my partner in my company. The fact is I'm to stubborn most of the time to even slow down when I got out of surgery for the hook in my arm I was ready to work (anesthesia or not). Lets just say hard workers are stubborn and rock headed to not slow down. Thank you for reading my introduction. Comment with what you wanna say I am not fearless about some criticism, even though I am a girl you also have to remember what kind of business I am in.
