If there are copper pipes, I would imagine you are looking at $400-$500 total. If it is just brass and wiring, maybe $200. Pool enclosure... $100 or so depending on the size. Windows.. another $150 or so if you clean them (assuming they are AL). I would guess between $500 and $700 take away. Too bad the juice will be off, it would have been nice to cool the beer in the fridge.

With the way the scrap prices are right now (in the basement) I don't know if I'd waste a lot of time on it.
Now back a year ago with better prices, yes but not now. If your just getting into scrapping thinking your going to get rich
then go get a 40 hr. week job.

The bigger electric cables you can strip the insulation off to get the best $$. This would happen after you have stripped out the house and got all the cable back to your home etc.
It would not be worth stripping the cables as you go, I expect you have a small 'time window' to get the wiring out of the house.
You will not get much per Kg for insulated cable, but you don't have to spend much time getting it either. Thats how it is.

If theres Copper pipe plumbing, that will help a lot. But I expect that its plastic. I dunno if the hot water cylinder will be a Copper one. In NZ they are.

The windows, if you can get them out and sell them whole you can make some good money. But if its only you doing the job, I'd say thats almost impossible.
It also depends on your vehicle for transporting the stuff and if you have a base you can work on them afterwards.

Just wondering, why is a 25yr old house being demolished? That never happens in NZ. My house is 110 years old.....

An as always mentioned...remember the resell of items to.

If the windows are in good condition or other items you can always profit by selling them on CL or another avenue.

The excitement will wear off soon enough. It is hard work. How much time do you have? What tools do you own? Do you have other priorites? Start with the higher value stuff. i.e. copper pipes, brass fittings, circuit breaker, (for the wires), electric cables where they enter the house. Then move to the more difficult things. Then, when you are out of time, you won't be wishing you had more time. Don't forget the electric motor from the elevator. That's worth a few bucks. Wires are hard to pull through walls but there are A LOT of them.

Get bolt cutters, wire snips, hammer, flat pry bar, philips/flat screwdriver, some channel locks and go to town!

Joshuwa - I hope scraping that big house is easier for you, then it was for me to read your post trying to describe a "Gold Mine". I do recommend you read a lot or as much as you can, of all the old post here at SMF. I wish you best of luck with your efforts.
