The excitement will wear off soon enough. It is hard work. How much time do you have? What tools do you own? Do you have other priorites? Start with the higher value stuff. i.e. copper pipes, brass fittings, circuit breaker, (for the wires), electric cables where they enter the house. Then move to the more difficult things. Then, when you are out of time, you won't be wishing you had more time. Don't forget the electric motor from the elevator. That's worth a few bucks. Wires are hard to pull through walls but there are A LOT of them.
Get bolt cutters, wire snips, hammer, flat pry bar, philips/flat screwdriver, some channel locks and go to town!
