    ScrappySteve here

Well after giving away junk to the junk man for years I finally got the bug myself to see what it is all about. I am in the Apartment Maintenance business so you can imagine the stuff I have came across and a lot of times gave away all in the name of "I do not have time".Well I decided to make time because of all the Tvs I see get thrown away only to be dragged back out of the dumpster and see it stripped and left that way for me to throw it back in.Well for now on I ill be doing the stripping if I can get to them first.Does not seem to be a lot in those CR tv's but I guess it adds up.I am not interested in collecting the big items and take them home to have a junk yard in my yard but I want to little stuff like the wire, motors, copper and trying to think if I want to get AL cans.Thats it for me I am here to learn.Noce forum you got here.

Welcome to our forum, all the info you want or need to start out the right way is all here. Separate categories for all the different things we do. Remember to be safe breaking down tv's.

And a whole crap-ton (more than a metric ton) of info on tv's.

    http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/disma...6-crt-tvs.html

    http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/disma...sassembly.html

Just go up to the google search box and type in "safely break down a tv" and there's the rest.
Just remember that prices are way different today from when these were posted.

Welcome, I hope you take the time to read and learn. You can get a PHD in scrapping from this forum and its members, if you're up for it...
