    Newbie here, ready to learn

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am a newbie here, I have been recycling metal for a few years on and off as a way to get some supplemental money, now I am trying to focus on my near future and want to start the new year with my own business, I have a full time job, but I am getting tired of working so many hours so someone can get richer and I just can go by check by check..
So, with that in mind, I will be pushing myself as hard as I can to establish a well rounded knowledge that I am sure I can learn from you guys that do this for a living, I need to do this also because I just got surgery on my left shoulder last November and still on the beginning of a long recovery..
I want to start getting involved on ewaste, cars are not bringing much to the table now a days, also I am a reloader, so I will be trying to stash as much lead as possible.. I will be smelting lead, brass and copper for keeps for future reloading...
Well, if there is anything I can help with, please let me know, I live in Houston Texas..
    Thank you.

Welcome aboard!! Read through the old threads, especially the e-waste ones if that's the angle you want to try. E-waste is a bit easier than moving old cars around but you'll learn from the guys who do it mostly full-time, you need lots of volume for it to be your only gig. And speed. An old slow poke like me in breaking stuff down is never going to make enough to support myself. So as much volume as you can get, break stuff down fast, and find a good reliable outlet for stuff like your boards. No easy street in scrapping even ewaste...

Thank you Dakota, I know it's not easy road, I know it's actually very hard to this for a living, I am doing a lot of research before I get nose deep in this business, but that's what drives me, that's my motivation, I like the challenge and I am a hard worker, I better make some money and keep it all than make a lot of money for somebody that it's getting richer and doesn't even appreciate all the effort and hard work we do for the company..
I have a long way to learn, hopefully the prices for the metals start getting better, by the way< HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY!!!!!

Welcome to the forum. It's amazing just how much information is available here on the forum. Like others I recommend reading the old threads. My reason is I don't know what you don't know and you don't know either.

Reading the old threads will expose you to areas new to you that may get you started into areas you would never had considered. Your education can allow you to recognize opportunities. Good luck, Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
