Advertise it in your local Craigs list FREE section
You might get someone to bite

Also look in Craigs list under the wanted section

Price of scrap is so low right now >> I would be charging you to take it away
I might be willing to do for FREE if it was sitting in the driveway and I could pick up at my convenience
    BUT
40 yr old washer out of my basement PLUS 2 man job, one set of basement steps equals somewhere between $50.00 and a hundred >> Depending how far I had to drive

I agree on the charge for pick up out of the basement. If you can manage to get it out to the curb/road then advertise it for free. Mike

Why do people think scrap fetches a fantastic price and why would u spend a morning driving over there.

Fuel=time=second person wage= it's all free as if.

I agree with the charge what you going to make out of one washer when its stripped down $10 maybe more maybe less.
