    New Guy

Hello. I'm interested in the scrap metal business and wondering if anyone has information about how to find auctions for scrap AC units.

I don't, sorry. If you have a HVAC license you could run an add in your local paper to start with and state you also remove all bad equiptment when you are finished.

Is a special HVAC license required to simply dismantle an AC unit to recycle the parts?

If it still has freon inside you would need a license. Even if it does not and you are bringing lots of these units in, at some point the EPA may contact the yard periodically and want to know names of people that bring in lots of the AC unit scrap. Just my thoughts.
