    How to Get Started

    Hi everybody!

    I'm very new to this whole world, and was hoping you might be able to give me a few tips on how to get started.

    I currently have 4 very old computers, probably from around the Windows 95 era. I'm trying to get rid of them, but if it's possible, I'd love to get as much money out of them as possible. Is there a good company I should look at, or should I be looking more at individuals?

    Thanks so very much in advance for your help!
    Paul

    Welcome to the forum. First hold onto what ever you have. Read the old threads. It takes effort but you will benefit from the knowledge you gain. You will then be informed and the MOST qualified to answer your own question.

    You may think I am giving you a hard time or just unwilling to give a straight answer to your question.

    Now if you asked me what I would do with four old computers, that depends, first check to see if that particular make model sells on ebay (including the cost of shipping) for enough to make it worth the effort to sell. Do I have the knowledge and equipment to test them before selling?

    Are any of the parts worth selling, again can I test them to see if they work.?

    Can I wipe the hard drives to make it safe to sell them, do I know how?

    If no to the above then do I know how to properly break down the computers and sell off for the maximum profit?

    The real answer to you current question is read. 73, Mike
    "Profit begins when you buy NOT when you sell." {quote passed down to me from a wise man}

    Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
