First time getting my foot wet....

Hello to everyone, I've been dabbling with the idea of collecting scrap as a way to make some side money for a while, but this is my first time really getting involved with it. I bought some pallets at an auction recently hoping to make a score taking them to the scrap yard, but lacking foresight, I may have jumped too soon. Here is my thread asking for advice http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap...ult-doors.html I bought 10 Pallets for around 700$. The pallets were labeled as "Stainless Steel Bank Vault Doors". I inspected the items, but not knowing much about the scrap industry, I didn't think to test if the metal is magnetic. I bought them knowing that steel can be sold at a scrap yard. The smallest of these lots is a pallet stacked with 5 boxes of 32"w x 14" L x 2". I estimate each one to weigh between 80-100 lbs totaling 450-500 lbs/pallet. In total, I estimate to have 6 - 8k lbs or 3 - 4 tons. Not knowing what type of steel it is, and calculating moving costs from the next town over (60 miles) I run the risk of taking a loss. I have a little less then a week to make the moving arrangements so any help would be greatly appreciated. I wish I would have informed myself before making this recent purchase, but what's done is done. Now I must make the best of it.

If you bought 100% non-magnetic stainless steel, you will make money. If it's not 100%, you could loose.

Props to you for getting out there and taking a chance.
