So...Been helping my father in law do some scrapping as he's been diagnosed with stage IV non-hodgkins lymphoma. Helping him for years but these past few months learning more about the levels of breaking down scrap. He has some local accounts with businesses, so that helps as well as local community members know where to "drop off" their scrap. So just educating myself more with things...hopefully finding out what to be careful of taking apart...as sometimes you run into those things that you try and take apart and it's a pandoras box! I have interests in blacksmithing started now as well with doing scrap so these two things are going hand in hand. I'm such a geek/nerd that now going into something that has such historic significance, it excites me. It really opens your eyes to recycling and what objects are worth as well as the quality of how things are built. My toolbox is getting fuller. I have now gotten my first angle grinder, standing bandsaw and drill press....all used but works for me. Only thing left on the list that I don't have offhand is a good reciprocating saw. Old man always makes sure I have a cow magnet and a file on hand, LOL. Now looking to try some of my magnets I removed off some old 20/40 GB hard drives....Thanks everyone for this great site!
