Hi from down in the Athens GA area.
From the looks of it, there is going to be alot of steel, a LARGE electrical motor, some GREAT wiring and probably some odds and ends (boards ect in the controls). My question to you is more...how much are the PARTS worth for resale since it works....can it be refurbished and resold with a good profit margin...those are better questions for your research. Scrap is the LAST stop and the lowest return.
Hope that helps!
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell
We could probably sell it for 5K, but that may take months to find a buyer. If there is 1K worth of profit selling as scrap, we'd start breaking it down now.
My quick research shows it to be about 6K pounds....depending on steel prices in your area that could be $60-200 in steel (based on .01-.03/lb for shred)...now some of that weight would be higher value IF you took it apart (the motor for instance and the wiring). If say the motor was 1500 pounds and they sell for .18/lb in your area that is $270 for the motor. You can see how this is going...you MIGHT MIGHT be able to squeeze out $1K, but I doubt it (again just eyeballing it). I bet the parts would bring far more.
You COULD try to find a refurbisher and offer them a quick deal at $1500///they can come get it and still have plenty of margin after fixes. Hard to say however.
Not sure how much that helps, but an hour or 2 looking and called for a dealer in user equip might find you a refurbisher. I did that with a broken air compressor (a big one)....I ended up letting it go for $500 cash...cost me $75 to rent something to move it. Not a bad ROI.
