    Hello from the uk

Hi all, I'm from the UK as the title would suggest. I've been into scrapping since I was dragged to my dads workshop as a young lad, and then on site working scrapping what I can. I started to really look into the value of scrap after being short changed by all local scrap yards, I still begrudge taking my scrap anywhere until I have sorted and separated, that way there is no argument. My journey was a hard learning curve for sure.
recently I have been looking into electronic scrap, anything I am not sure of gets saved for a later date, my better half is always moaning at me because I won't throw anything away, it might be worth something.

I used to hoard ferrous when I had the space but circumstances changed and I now have 2 box rooms that are full of ewaste, some sorted, some not.

Looking forward to expanding my virtually none existent knowledge with the community.

Welcome to SMF from across the pond. You have come to the right place to meet great people, fantastic conversation, and some good old fashion humor. Oh I guess we also spend a little time talking scrap. Take your time, look around the sight, and enjoy all it has to offer. There are several members from the UK and I hope they will be in contact with you. You will have to have at least 10 posts to enjoy the benefits of the sight including private messaging which will allow other members to contact you in person. Good luck.
Give back more to this world than we take.

    Thank you patriot,

Mike, this is one of my concerns with Scrap and recycling in general , I have been seriously thinking of setting up my own recycling and refining business, purely because I am sick of the unscrupulous actions of what seems to be a trade wide issue of trying to pull the wool over people's eyes, so to speak.
i have a pretty good job but my heart will never be in it.

Welcome me to you too junkinistas

Pleased to meet you dear fellow, I do say, Lancashire is exquisite, myself, I am from Yorkshire

Its not somewhere I've been, I installed some transformers and switchgear in the new Battersea Power Station project and put up the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square, relocated most of the stagg brewery in Richmond, but I try to stay out of the London if I can.
Are you located anywhere near Troy, Indiana? I know of a company that is soon due to relocate, may be a lead to a new customer, Can't say anymore at the minute as we are under a Non Disclosure Agreement.
