    Hello from oklahoma!

Hey everyone, I am a woman new to scrapping and the senior scene! I have had my own businesses most of my life off and on. Now I am working for the man and getting tired of it already, ha,ha! So I am seriously considering scrapping computers and other small electronics. I came across your site and it is full of information, love it! I don't know if you can make a living off of it but maybe a good supplement. Is advertising on CL the best way to get your electronics? I am also going to take a trip to the scrap yard and hope that they will give me some tips. I hope to make some good friends with you guys!

    Thanks,
    Laura

Welcome to the forum. My very best advise is to invest the time reading old threads. The more you read the more you will profit. I think you will find it difficult to make scraping a full time gig until you have lots of experience and contacts.

Starting out get the computers any way you can that is legal and cheap. Once you disassemble lots of them and read the old threads you will better be able to decide the direction you business should go.

CL can get you material but developing commercial accounts will grow your business. Included in that auctions, mostly government ones and keep reading the threads.
