Good points on hoarding copper for future profit, but..the fella does say he DOESNT want to cash it in. Wants to save it for sculptures an the like.
To the OP...there is a lot of copper to be found in
ewaste. From copper heat sinks to wire. In regular scrap there is a bunch of copper. I have no issues accumulating it and I only deal with ewaste these days. Scour the site, you'll find plenty of tips on where to look for copper. I would take Hipo's suggestion of finding someone to trade with. I know we used to have a rather popular buyer out there in KS, and a couple forum folks out that way(I'll let them introduce themselves). I know if someone asked me to trade I'd be willing to think about it depending on what they had in return.
