    New to the forum.

I live in Farmington Mo. I am 60 years old and I have been scrapping as a hobby for many years. I'm looking forward to retiring from my business ( self-employed painter ) and spending more time scrapping. I hope to have a fair amount of time to post on this forum. I also metal detect as a hobby and love pulling that brass and copper out of the ground as I find those old coins.

Welcome to the forum from Las Vegas! May your retirement go exactly how you want it to! There's a ton of information on this forum to supplement even the most experienced scrapper's knowledge and more yet in the paid section. Loom forward to reading about what you get up to!

Welcome to SMF from the Dakota's. Scrapping seems to be a new hobby for many retirees, myself included. I look forward to your contributions and we love pictures.
Give back more to this world than we take.

Welcome to the forum and keep reading the old threads for a serious education in scraping. You will be able to recognize opportunities you would otherwise miss out on. 73, Mike

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure there is a lot I can learn. I have been scrapping since I was about 5 years old as I helped my dad. I know a lot of the old school stuff but I am looking forward to learning how to get the most out of my stuff in today's market. I still have lots of copper from the old days when burning it was the norm. I know that things have to be done differently now. I have lots of clean aluminum and other metals from when I took the time to clean it. I don't know if that is the best method anymore.

I have stuff that I need to scrap that I bought at a good price from estate auctions along with stuff that my son and I bought to sell on e-bay. We've done very well when we had the time to sell on e-bay as we are set up for that. I would rather scrap so I have a lot of stuff I need to clean and I want to buy more. I have people giving this stuff away and I need to take advantage of that while the prices are down.
