    Greetings from the Netherlands

Hi all, my name is Gilbert from the Netherlands, Eindhoven to be precise. I started collecting scrap PC parts since my work at an IT repair shop back in 2013. Since 2015 I started to work at a place where we did a lot of home movings, and home evictions, and most of the discarded electronics and computers went home with me, to start a collection for scrapping later on. However, due to medical conditions, accidents, and relationship problems I lost about 2 years of scrapping and now I have a huge stockpile. Since all running projects have to be rounded up before winter starts, I sometimes get lost in all the buckets and jerrycans I forgot to label, and eventually forgot to get back to.

So, now I'm trying to clean everything up, and after that I will try to sort out as much of the copper and aluminum I can to get some money back for all the acids I invested in before.

But because I had a lot of forgotten projects, and a friend handed over his mess with forgotten projects I will have a lot of question on how to proceed and finish the mess I'm stuck with for now.

I did learn a lot, I understand the basics, I keep Hokes on the side as a manual, but still there is a lot I do not understand and I hope this board can help me finish the projects the right way, and get as much gold and silver from it.

    Thanks !

Welcome to the forum. First I do mean we welcome you here but we do not discuss refining of metals there is another forum devoted to that area of interest that you should join. I assume since you have Holks book you are aware of that forum.

Next I personally I have experienced similar issues where I had a big stockpile with buckets and boxes of mixtures of various items. So where do you start can be the real question. I suggest you decide what you want to be a refiner or a recycler. To be a proper and profitable refiner you need extensive equipment and facilities for the safe processing of the material.

So I think it would be best to find great buyers of your ewaste. Here in the US we have our members buyers on the forum who offer great services and competitive pricing. Our members who use these buyers give regular reports on their performance.

If you have great buyers you can concentrate on acquiring the materials and shipping them off. Perhaps you could evolve into a buyer yourself, we haven't heard of many EU buyers.

Set yourself a priority in your current situation and move forward. One thing that helped me was to process everything that comes in each day first so it doesn't add to the pile. With my situation and following this advice everything I took off the pile of old stuff was a move forward rather than adding to the pile. Good luck and 73, Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
