Scrapping while I walk my dog, then buying Bitcoin with my cash.

Hello everyone! Wanted to introduce myself. I'm a total noob to scrapping but I really love it so far - I've never been great at putting things together, but taking them apart is so much fun.

I started scrapping by just noticing a whole bunch of cans around my town while I was walking my dog - people just stuff them in the bushes or leave them on the street. So I started collecting them, and I got about 34 pounds in a month! A scrap yard near me pays over $.50 a pound, so it was a good feeling earning all that while just taking walks that I had to take anyway.

Since then, I've started collecting and processing e-waste. There's a lot that I have yet to learn, and I'm joining this forum for help in identifying the metals I'm collecting. Since I won't be earning a lot of money very quickly, I plan to use the cash I get from my scrapyards to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, then check in on their value in a couple years.

Welcome. I have recently decided to do the same. What doesn't need to go to bills or obtaining more raw material, will go into cryptos. This is a very exciting time unlike anything I have seen in my lifetime of 48 yrs so far.
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.

    Question:
If the 'cryptocurrencies' you are buying crash in value, can you afford the losses ?

I hope you are not betting your retirement or kid's future education !

Yes, No, No. I have only been in the market for two months. My meager investment is up 500% and if it was all gone tomorrow, I would be bummed but I would not really be affected in any other way.

Greyhound! He's a red brindle, trained at the track but got too sick/skinny to run in any races. Love him to death.

Yep, since it's probably going to be less than $100 a month revenue scrapping, I'm all good. I think that the market right now is an S-curve technological adoption rather than a bubble, but the value will certainly be driven too high by speculation and crash... a lot. But Bitcoin fans are already used to it. See this vid from 2015:
