I'm a metallurgy n00b. If I'm being totally honest I used to steal and reshape metal to sell it, did some time. I stopped messing around now but it gave me a new hobby of sorts. Probably a little overshare but I figured I'd just put that out there. No more illegal stuff anyways.



I found this place while searching for info on melting brass casings. I spend a lot of time at the range and tons of people are inconsiderate and leave their casings laying around. Almost nobody tries to reclaim the actual bullet. At the moment that's the project I'm focused on. Collecting brass/copper/lead.

I bet a lot of the casings could be sold as-is for reloading. It's great that you will be removing a lead from the range - less heavy metal contamination for the future.

There are some folks who "mine" fire ranges for the lead, and they mostly use dry panning techniques. Let us know if you find an easier method !
