I've been a long time lurker, reading and learning from this forum. So much so, that I finally made the leap and joined up.
I am in Edmonton, Canada and have been dabbling in scrapping part time / hobbyist level. I keep migrating towards the
e-waste side of things and much to the wifes dismay have found a way to fill the garage with electronics to break down. I find it calming to work in there, see how the electronics are put together and get my destructive side out a bit too.
In saying all that, I am hoping to make some part time income out of this. Some of the things I'm interested in learning more are, sourcing ideas and suggestions (I do kijiji pickups and started handing out flyers), and finding a local buyer. So far I've been selling the metals to local scrap yards, but stockpiling any circuit boards etc.
If anyone is in the Edmonton region, or even Red Deer or Calgary would love to meet up for a coffee or beer and compare some notes. Thanks and look forward to learning some more, and maybe one day passing on some of that knowledge forward.
